The Color
This blue color comes from the isatis tinctoria, better known as the woad plant. This plant has been used since ancient times; it is known that the Egyptians used this plant to make blue pigment. The leaves are plucked from the plant and rolled into a ball. After drying in the sun, the leaves are ground into a fine powder pigment. In addition to these natural ingredients, no chemicals are ever used during the dyeing process.
